Doing Laundry in Your RV
Even though you’re on vacation when you’re camping in your RV, you’ve still got chores to accomplish. Laundry can be a particularly challenging chore if your RV doesn’t have a washer and dryer unit and your campground lacks laundry facilities. Still, you’ve got to get all those towels, sheets, clothes, and swimsuits clean. Here are some tips to make doing laundry in your RV easier.
Locate a Laundromat
If you’re camping near a town or a city, you’ll likely be able to find a laundromat that isn’t too far from your RV campground. You’ll want to make sure you have plenty of quarters, baskets or bags to carry your dirty and clean laundry, laundry detergent (pods can be easier to transport instead of liquids or powders), and dryer sheets. You can bring a board game or some craft projects to do while you wait for the laundry to cycle through.
Wash By Hand
For smaller loads that you can wash quickly, you can simply get some soap and a bucket of warm water to wash socks, underwear, and T-shirts. Avoid hanging clothes up to dry in the RV itself, as this can increase condensation that leads to mold and mildew. Instead, put up a clothesline outside of the RV to hang the clothes to dry.
