Shooting Star RV Resort (Escalante, Utah)

Let’s start close to home with this gem tucked away in the middle of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The tiny city of Escalante itself is located along Utah Scenic Byway 12, so you’ll get to view some beautiful landscapes along the way. If you’ve got your own Bambi trailer, you can absolutely bring it to the resort, but if you don’t, then you should rent one of the eight Airstream trailers kept on-site. 

These trailers are designed to evoke the personalities of actors from the golden age of Hollywood, from the glamour and mystique of Marilyn Monroe to the rugged outdoorsiness of John Wayne. ## Hicksville Trailer Palace & Artist Retreat (Joshua Tree, California)

Going just a touch further afield to the west, you can choose to stay at this RV resort which features ten trailers for you to stay in. Two of those are classic Airstream trailers, which you’ll instantly recognize from the aluminum exterior. A 19’ Airstream Bambi is modeled after the galaxy, evoking a nearby New Age observatory. The 22’ Airstream trailer called the Sweet has a quirky 1970s aesthetic that flower children everywhere will adore.

In the campground itself, you can visit the bar trailer for a drink, play some mini-golf, try your hand at archery, challenge a friend to cornhole or play a game of table tennis. Adventurous souls can use this as their stopping point before continuing onto the Joshua Tree National Park.

Hotel Daniel (Vienna, Austria)

This park isn’t close to home, but if you’re Europe-bound anyway, you should make it a stop on your itinerary. The Hotel Daniel itself is a standard hotel, but they keep a vintage 22’ Silver Streak Clipper Airstream on the hotel grounds that you can rent in lieu of a typical hotel room. This 1952 trailer is situated in the front garden and has been lovingly restored, upgraded and maintained to provide you with a one-of-a-kind travel experience that you’ll definitely want to Instagram thoroughly for your friends back home.
