Must-Have RV Accessories for Your Airstream Flying Cloud Trailer
Getting the RV is only the first step. Once you’ve got the right camper, you’ll need to fill it with items that’ll make camping easier and also help you feel right at home while on the road. But with so much to do, you might be wondering where to start. That’s why Airstream of Utah has provided some of our essential RV accessories that we believe every new RV owner should have, especially if you’ve invested in an Airstream Flying Cloud. Check out our tips or stop by our location in Salt Lake City to chat with our experienced staff. We also serve Park City and Provo.
Drinking and Sewer Hose
We’d like to be very clear about this: these are two separate hoses. Both are very necessary, though. Your drinking hose can provide you with fresh water outside your camper, which can be helpful for cleaning and more. You’ll also need to drain your greywater and blackwater tanks, so a designated sewer hose is an important investment.
Water Pressure Regulator
Most campgrounds will provide a water hookup that will be compatible with your Flying Cloud trailer, but not all. If the water pressure is too high, you risk damaging your plumbing and having to clean up a mess and pay an expensive bill. Water pressure regulators are designed to streamline your water hookups so they enter the system at a pressure level it can handle.
Surge Protector
Just as a water pressure regulator protects you from the water hookup, a surge protector will safeguard your camper from the electrical hookups. Too much or not enough energy can fry your system, and a surge protector will detect this and shut off the power before damage can be done.
Stackable Dishware
Trust us, this makes storing your kitchen supplies a lot easier. From dishes to bowls to pots and pans, you’ll reduce the amount of space you need if you can stack your supplies. You can even look for collapsible bowls to save even more room.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Your tires are the foundation of safety and efficiency. Even though your trailer isn’t calling the shots on the road, a blowout or a flat can create a serious road hazard, or at least a stressful situation. If you’re sick and tired of checking tire pressure with the gauge, consider getting a tire pressure monitoring system. This will provide you with real-time updates on your wheels. The minute one of your tires starts to lose pressure, you’ll know about it.
Solar Panels
When you invest in an Airstream Flying Cloud, you’ll have a system all ready for solar-panel installation. All you need is the solar panels. Solar energy can be a clean, renewable resource that can even save some of our more dedicated travelers a lot of money on propane. You’ll just want to talk to the experts about the right panels for your trailer.
Hammock
And now for some fun tips. A hammock is a classic outdoor relaxation tool, so stowing one in the many storage areas that come with the Flying Cloud can help instantly transform your surroundings into the perfect outdoor lounge.
Propane Fire Pit
Out here in Utah, we’re not immune to the forest fires that seem to be getting worse every year. You’ll find certain parts of your trip might run into wood fire bans. This can be a bummer, unless you have a propane fire pit. This will help you enjoy a campfire without breaking any rules.
These are just a few suggestions to get your started, but there are a lot of additional features and supplies you’ll want to add to your Flying Cloud trailer, some of which you’ll probably pick up on as you gain experience.
