2. Can I store a unit outside?

Yes, you can. If you would like another option, we can recommend a local full-service storage facility for you.

3. What type vehicle would I need to tow ____________ model?

One of our associates would be happy to answer that question, please call our dealership at 801-890-4363 or email info@airstreamofutah.com.

4. Can I get Internet?

Yes!  Wineguard sells an internet extender.  However, the unit still receives signal from cell towers, just as your cell phone does.

5. If I play something on one of the TV’s in a Unit, does it play on all of the TV's?

There is a switch in each unit with an option to play the same program on each TV or play different programs.

6. How does solar panel work?

It trickles charges to the battery. Photovoltaic (PV) cells convert sunlight to direct current (DC) electricity. The inverter converts DC into alternating current (AC) electricity and charges the unit’s battery. The battery power sends power to your lights and appliances.

7. Is there a generator attached to the unit?

No, but on some units there is room to store a generator. The Interstate touring coaches have generators, the trailers do not. Please call our showroom for specifics, 801-890-4363.

8. Is there outdoor storage on the unit?

Yes, though the size will vary on the unit.

9. What additional items do you recommend purchasing for the best Airstream trailer performance?

Equalizer hitch and surge protector. We sell both of these items in our showroom.

10. Are they pre-wired for solar?

Yes.

11. Does Airstream of Utah offer financing?

Yes, we offer indirect financing through several major banks and local credit unions.

12. Why are Airstream trailers and touring coaches so expensive?

Quality labor and materials are the reason the Airstream Travel Trailer and Touring Coach are more expensive than standard RV's.  The time is takes to make the door on an Airstream is the same amount of time it takes to make an entire fiberglass trailer. Airstreams engineering and construction along with the very best materials add to the overall cost.  It is important to remember that value is a better parameter than price for making decisions.

13. Does Airstream still make the Bambi model?

Bambi is a name applied to all new single-axle airstream travel trailers, including the Sport, Flying Cloud, and International series. Their easy-to-tow size, versatility, and style have won the hearts of Airstreamers for over 50 years.

15. Do you rent Airstream trailers?

No, we don't rent Airstream trailers.

16. Are Airstream travel trailers suitable for living in the cold winter months?

Any exterior water or sewer lines will freeze if they have fluids in them. Keep them dry. Interior tanks and plumbing will be okay as long as you keep the unit heated. You will need to use your furnace for heat. Air conditioners with heat strips and heat pumps do not work at low temperatures (below 38 degrees). The furnace will help keep the trailer’s internal water lines from freezing. Heat ducts or heating pads also assist with the lines and tanks. Running your furnace will quickly deplete your batteries if you are not connected to electricity, though. A catalytic heater may be an option as they do not use electricity. You can put a gallon of RV antifreeze into your gray and black tanks as this will settle down to the drain pipes and helps prevent the pipes from freezing up. A trick for the exterior is to buy a spare sewer outlet cap, then drill and mount a lamp socket to it. Wire up the socket and use a low wattage bulb such as a Christmas light. It will keep the outlet area warm as well as the adjoining pipes. Take in your city water line at night and use your internal fresh water tank overnight. Use your fresh water & sewer hoses as needed but take them up and drain them well until you need them again. Be sure to winterize the city water inlet.Traveling on icy roadways is definitely more dangerous as traveling during the summer. Use silver roll insulation between the windows & the curtains as well as the skylight and fan locations. This will help retain heat when extremely cold. Keep your electrical cords, cable & phone lines off the ground, as they may become stuck to snow & ice. A blow dryer is a safe way to thaw pipes. Be sure to install fresh batteries in your smoke alarm before traveling. Do not use your cooktop and/or oven to heat your unit. These are for cooking only.

17. What do I need to tow an Airstream?

-Airstreams require a hitch ball size of 2 5/16", which is larger and more secure than the standard 2" ball.
-Airstreams are outfitted with trailer brakes. Many trucks and SUVS may have brake controllers pre-installed, but many do not. Your Airstream will require a brake controller to operate the trailer brakes.
-Airstreams require a 7-way vehicle plug in order to operate the lights and brakes.
