Upgrading the Interior Design of Your Airstream® RV

Jul. 23 2020 Lifestyle By Airstream of Utah

When you start looking for RVs at your local Airstream® dealer, you’ll probably notice a lot of neutral, welcoming interior designs with minimal decorations. On its own, this can be sufficient in creating a relaxing environment that you can come back to at the end of a long day of camping, but it isn’t personalized to your style or life.

That’s why, when you get your Airstream® RV, you’ll want to upgrade the look to better suit who you are so you can make your trailer feel just like home. To get you started, Airstream of Utah has provided some of the most common ways to redecorate to improve the look of your RV. If you still need the right camper to begin with, stop by our location in Salt Lake City, serving Park City and Provo, and we’ll show you some Airstream RVs for sale in Utah.

Choose a Theme

Sometimes, starting from scratch can be a bit daunting, especially if interior design isn’t your forte. It can help to choose a theme you like and work around that. Perhaps you like a more rustic theme and enjoy hunting, in which case you might be looking at wooden trinkets, paintings of nature, and earth-toned linens.

If you like a more modern feel, your decorations will likely be more geometric with bold, deep colors.

A beach theme will probably include much lighter, softer colors and maybe even some exterior decorations to really accentuate the theme. This approach can make it easier to quickly find decor elements that you like and will create the environment you want to travel in.

Add Splashes of Color

Airstream trailers often come with very neutral designs to give you a good base to start with. Now it’s time for you to add some color. Paint a wall. Add some colorful blankets or throw pillows to your furniture. Hang colorful paintings and ceiling fixtures.

Color can drastically change the look and feel of your RV. Consider brushing up on the color wheel before starting to get an idea of colors that are complementary to one another.

Add Travel-Friendly Plants

This one may sound strange, since you’ll already be surrounded by nature, but bringing plants inside can add a bit of life to your Airstream trailer. The greenery can add freshness and vibrancy, whether you go for a colorful flower arrangement or something a bit greener. Keep in mind, if you’re worried about knocking the plants over, you can always opt for fake plants. They may not smell as nice, but they can still create the same effect.

Showcase Mementos, Souvenirs, and Photos

As you’re traveling, hopefully you’re taking lots of pictures and collecting souvenirs from the places you visit to remind you of all the great memories you’ve made along the way. While some of these might go in your stationary home, consider putting some of them in your Airstream camper! What better place to share stories and reminders about old adventures than in your RV?

Use Real Dishware

It’s easy to opt for paper plates and plastic-ware on the road, especially if many of your trips only last the weekend. But trust us, stocking your kitchen with real plates and utensils can make the trip cozier and more homely. Plus, it’s better for the environment and cheaper in the long run. You can even choose plates that match the theme you’ve chosen for your RV.

These are just a few of the ways you can upgrade the interior of your Airstream RV, but at the end of the day, it’s your camper. You’re going to know best what look is perfect for you and your family, so have a little fun with it and experiment. If you don’t like how something turned out, just try again! If you still need the right Airstream trailer to start with, stop by Airstream of Utah in Salt Lake City and we’ll help you find the perfect model for you.
